Acknowledgment of Covid & No Rescheduling Clause
At this point in the Covid-19 world we live in, it may be time for your business to add in a clause to your contracts whereby clients acknowledge and understand Covid-19 is impacting the world but still agree to host their wedding/event no matter what guidelines are put in place AND that no complimentary rescheduling will occur. Because Coronavirus is a "known" cause, it’s unlikely to fall under Force Majeure for new contracts signed because it’s not "unforeseeable" or "unpredictable". This clause is very straightforward and tells your clients what your Covid-19 Policy is, that you will perform no matter what unless the government shuts down the country and that you will follow local and state health department guidelines for business owners. It also explains to your clients that your regular rescheduling and cancellation policies are enforced, even in a Covid scenario.
The Legal Paige worked with 5 industry pros to draft this template clause and it includes everything you’ll need to be protected when you book new clients in this era of Covid. Remember, you can always negotiate this clause with each client depending on the situation and modify it so your clients also feel good and secure about booking you.
